LINUX vs WINDOWS

Welcome back to the BWithHacker's blog

Today's blog is about why the security
professionals go for Linux and not for

First, let's talk about what the hell is Linux
and Windows.....
Windows and Linux are two different
 Operating Systems. Apart from these
two, we have many other OS like Macintosh, ChromeOs, and many more.

Linux is an open-source and free operating system or OS created by Linus Torvalds in the late 90s. Windows is a paid operating system or OS created by Microsoft in the late 90s.

Why Hackers prefer Linux over Windows.....

  • Linux is CLI(Command Line Interface) based and Windows is GUI (Graphical User Interface)based. With Linux, you can do anything and everything on and from the terminal and with Windows you have the privilege to see icons, open files using double-clicking on icons, etc.
  • If Windows is a knife, Linux is a Katana. By using Linux you can do whatever you want. By using Linux you have the power to do literally anything.
  • Windows is paid and still, it compromises our privacy whereas Linux is free and still, keeps our privacy intact.
  • Windows will perform some tasks(like updating and installing software and changing firewall configuration) on its own whereas Linux will never do anything on its own.
    • Linux will ask you "Do you want to continue?" even if it's a 1KB file or it's in GBs
    • Linux will prompt that by doing installing this software or package, 1KB of your disk space will be used
    • Windows, on the other hand, will not do any of these things. You just have to blindly keep pressing Next, Next... Finish until it's installed.
  • Windows itself is paid with plenty of money and still, it needs external Antivirus Software to keep itself secure. And that Antivirus doesn't even guarantee your security. But this is not the case with Linux, as first of all it's free and it doesn't need an external antivirus to secure itself.
  • By using Windows, you can get hacked and by using Linux you can hack others.
  • Windows can get attacked by Malware, Ransomware and on the other hand, you can create your own Malware, Ransomware and what not.
  • Linux is fully customizable(from background wallpaper customization to kernel level customization) and Windows provide you with limited access and limited customization  (Windows will never let you make any changes to the kernel).
You may be thinking that hackers are poor that they can't buy windowsπŸ‘Ž. Well yeah, we are poor but not that poor, that we can't buy a genuine Windows. The reasons for hackers, security professionals are:
  • It's free πŸ‘….
  • It's open-source.
  • It's easily customizable.
  • And Linux provides you with root access.
  • It provides privacy.
